Equinus

In this condition the child will walk on his/her toes. It is because of contracture of tendoachillis muscle. It can be in one leg or both legs. The causes can be cerebral palsy, polio, residual clubfoot, muscular dystrophy, meningomyelocole, arthrogryposis and other neuro muscular conditions. This can be in association with other muscle contractures. The management includes stretching, physiotherapy, botulinum toxin A or surgical lengthening of muscle.
