The parents will usually observe that the tibia (lower part of the leg) is turned over the thigh. In this condition there is hyperextension of knee joint with subluxation or dislocation of tibia over femur. It could be associated with congenital hip dislocation and clubfoot. Associated syndromes are Larson’s syndrome, arthrogryposis and meningomyelocoele. Mild to moderate types can be treated with manipulation and serial plasters. Plasters are started within the first week of birth. Severe types may need surgical lengthening of quadriceps tendon
