Postero medial bowing of tibia

This is a congenital deformity seen in newborn child in which the shin bone (tibia) is angulated posteriorly and medially. The foot is excessively dorsiflexed. This condition is initially treated with plaster and splinting. The bowing will correct over a period of time however the leg may appear short for which lengthening may be required at a later date.
